Since the Fall of 2023, I have led the development of the Applied Microeconomics Reading Group in the UF Economics Department.

While labeled a "Reading Group" due to its origins as a more traditional one, the group regularly meets as an internal seminar in which graduate students, and sometimes faculty, present new and ongoing work. The setting provides a unique opportunity for early researchers to present and receive feedback on their research, while also exposing beginning students to doctoral-level research.

We have welcomed external presentations from doctoral students in the departments of Finance, Accounting, Computer Engineering, and Food and Resource Economics, as well as students affiliated with the Eric Friedheim Tourism Institute and UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

Upcoming Schedule

Fall 2026 Schedule TBD

Sessions resume at the start of the fall semester. Check back in August, or reach out below to claim a slot.

Present With Us

Any UF student interested in presenting can reach out with a tentative date and a one-line description of the work. Works-in-progress are welcome — the group is a low-pressure setting for early-stage feedback, and beginning students benefit from the exposure to doctoral-level research.
